Study Guide for the Week of  January 17, 2021

This Week Reading: Matthew 13: 24 - 43 (focus 31-32)

A. Welcome: Welcome everyone especially new persons and read out loud the purpose of your group
B. Purpose: Our purpose is to spread the Kingdom of God. We do this by multiplying groups of people who care for each as God's family. We begin by inviting new people to our group and building them to be followers of Jesus. Each person here has the potential to be empowered to start and be the leader of a new group and spread God's kingdom.

C. Worship Time: Spend a few minutes singing a worship song. Here is one you may want to use Heal Our Land  (or pick your own on YouTube make sure it has the lyrics on the screen)

How do you see God working in your life right now?

G. Read Background Information: 
Matthew chapter 13 contains six parables about the Kingdom of Heaven. A parable is a story that is designed to make a point. The Kingdom of Heaven refers to the reign or rule of God. Sometimes it is referred to as the Kingdom of God and sometimes as the Kingdom of Heaven in the Bible. One day the Kingdoms of this world (political, social economic) will become the Kingdom of God. That will happen when Jesus returns. His Kingdom will be the only Kingdom and He will reign over all. When Jesus came the first time and began His ministry he said, the Kingdom of God is here. He also said in Luke 17:20-21 that, " The Kingdom of God does not come visibly, nor will people say, 'Here it is' or 'There it is' because the Kingdom of God is within you. So at the present time God's kingdom and the Kingdoms of the world exist side by side. This parables of Jesus are designed to help us understand what the Kingdom of heaven is like now. It is not talking about heaven but about God's kingdom here now.

You can focus your group time on the verses from Sunday which are 31-32. If you want you can focus on other parts of chapter 13. Some parts that go together would be:

I.            The Principle of the Seed

Key Concept: God always starts small

Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 1:27-28  But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. ²⁸ God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,

Community Group Application: Ask yourself what is the small step I need to take now to move where God wants me to be.

II.         The Principle of the Field

Key Concept: Change comes from application and action not more information

Key Verse: John 13:17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Community Group Application: We all need people in our lives who will hold us accountable to take action and take the next step 

III.              Principle of Growth

Key Concept: God brings the growth through His power

Key Verse: Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

Community Group Application: God purpose for each of His followers, for each community group and for the church is that they would grow and meet needs of a broken world 

H. Word: Read Matthew 13:24-43 - break it down into smaller portions to read. Read it in portions aloud together several times. (Goal is that everyone understand the Bible story or verses by retelling them in their own words - keep at it until everyone knows the story or verses)
1. What key (important) words do you see in these verses?
2. Tell in your own words what happens in these verses.
3. What are the details?
4. What details can you add to what others in the group have said?

I. Discuss the following general questions together (Goal is to use these general questions to guide a discussion - the leader should not speak more than 30% of the time - let the group discover what God is saying to them).
1. What new thing did you discover in the story or verses that you did not know before?
2. What did you learn about God (Father, Jesus or Holy Spirit) from the story?
3. What do you learn about people from the story?

4. What important lessons for us do you see in this story?

 
J. Commitment - Obedience - Application  (This is the key - have everyone answer this question): 
1. What in specific will you commit to apply in your life from this study? 

K. Prayer Time:                
1. Pray for an empty chair representing new people who you want to join your group. Name names of people specifically.                
2. Pray for the needs of the members of the group. It is best to divide into 2 groups one of male and the other female.
L. For Next time:                
1. Ask each person the name of a person they will invite to the group                                         for next week.

Esta semana Lectura: Mateo 13:24-43

Guía del Grupo Comunitario de Crossroads:

A. Bienvenido: Bienvenidos a todos, especialmente a las personas nuevas y lea en voz alta el propósito de su grupo

B. Propósito: Nuestro propósito es difundir el Reino de Dios. Hacemos esto multiplicando  grupos de personas que cuidan de cada uno como familia de Dios. Comenzamos invitando  i  a nuevas personas a nuestro grupo y  construyéndolas  para que sean seguidores de Jesús. Cada persona aquí tiene el potencial de ser  empoderada  para comenzar y ser el líder de un nuevo grupo y  difundir el reino de Dios

C. Tiempo de adoración: Pasa unos minutos cantando una canción de adoración. Elegir su propio cancion en YouTube (asegúrese de que tiene la letra en la pantalla)

D. Annucios: Los anuncios miran arriba

E. Revisar
1. ¿Cómo te fue con lo que querías aplicar a partir de la semana pasada? 
2. ¿A quién invitaste al grupo para esta semana?


F. Pregunta de apertura (una pregunta simple para introducir el tema principal - llamado rompehielos): ¿Cómo ves a Dios trabajando en tu vida en este momento?

G. Información de antecedentes: Mateo capítulo 13 contiene seis parábolas sobre el Reino de los Cielos. Una parábola es una historia que está diseñada para hacer un punto. El Reino de los Cielos se refiere al reinado o regla de Dios. A veces se le conoce como el Reino de Dios y a veces como el Reino de los Cielos en la Biblia. Un día los reinos de este mundo (político, económico social) se convertirán en el Reino de Dios. Eso sucederá cuando Jesús regrese. Su Reino será el único Reino y reinará sobre todos. Cuando Jesús vino por primera vez y comenzó Su ministerio dijo: El Reino de Dios está aquí. También dijo en Lucas 17:20-21 que, "El Reino de Dios no viene visiblemente, ni la gente dirá: 'Aquí está' o 'Ahí está' porque el Reino de Dios está dentro de ti. Así que en la actualidad el reino de Dios y los reinos del mundo existen uno al lado del otro. Estas parábolas de Jesús están diseñadas para ayudarnos a entender cómo es el Reino de los cielos ahora. No se trata del cielo, sino del reino de Dios aquí ahora.

 

Puedes concentrar tu tiempo de grupo en los versículos del domingo que son 31-32. Si lo desea, puede centrarse en otras partes del capítulo 13. Algunas partes que van juntas serían:

Aplicación de grupo comunitario: Pregúntese cuál es el pequeño paso que debo dar ahora para moverme donde Dios quiere que esté.

Concepto clave: El cambio proviene de la aplicación y la acción, no más información

Versículo clave: Juan 13:17 Ahora que sabes estas cosas, serás bendecido si las haces.

Aplicación de Grupo Comunitario: Todos necesitamos personas en nuestras vidas que nos responsavense para tomar medidas y dar el siguiente paso

Ⅲ. Principio de crecimiento

Concepto clave: Dios lleva el crecimiento a través de Su poder

Versículo clave: Romanos 1:16 Porque no estoy avergonzado del Evangelio, porque es el poder de Dios el que trae la salvación a todos los que creen: primero al judío, luego al gentil.

Aplicación del grupo comunitario: Propósito de Dios para cada uno de Sus seguidores, para cada grupo de la comunidad y para la iglesia es que crecerían y satlerían las necesidades de un mundo roto

H. Palabra: Mateo 24-43 Léelo en porciones en voz alta varias veces. (La meta es que todos entiendan la historia o los versículos de la Biblia contándolos con sus propias palabras - manténganse en ella hasta que todos conozcan la historia o los versículos)

1. ¿Qué palabras clave (importantes) ves en esos versículos?
2. Diga con sus propias palabras lo que sucede en estos versículos.  
3. ¿Cuáles son los detalles?
4. ¿Qué detalles puede agregar a lo que otros en el grupo han dicho?

I. Discutir las siguientes preguntas generales juntos (El objetivo es utilizar estas preguntas generales para guiar un debate - el líder no debe hablar más del 30% de las veces - deje que el grupo descubra lo que Dios les está diciendo).
1. ¿Qué cosa nueva descubriste en la historia o los versículos que no conocías antes?
2. ¿Qué aprendiste acerca de Dios (Padre, Jesús o Espíritu Santo) de la historia? 
3. ¿Qué aprendes acerca de las personas de la historia?
4. ¿Qué lecciones importantes para nosotros ven en esta historia? 

J. Compromiso - Obediencia - Aplicación (Esta es la clave - que todos respondan a esta pregunta):
1. ¿Qué en concreto se comprometerán a aplicar en su vida de este estudio?

K. Tiempo de oración:
1. Ore por una silla vacía que represente a nuevas personas a las que desea unirse a su    Grupo. Nombres de personas específicamente.
2. Orar por las necesidades de los miembros del grupo. Lo mejor es dividir en 2    uno de los hombres y la otra hembra.

L. Para la próxima vez:
1. Pregunte a cada persona el nombre de una persona a la que invitarán a la grupo para la próxima semana.
