Message for Sunday October 18, 2020

This Week Reading: Acts 3:1-10

Crossroads Community Group Guide:
A. Welcome: Welcome everyone especially new persons and read out loud the purpose of your group
B. Purpose: Our purpose is to spread the Kingdom of God. We do this by multiplying groups of people who care for each as God's family. We begin by inviting new people to our group and building them to be followers of Jesus. Each person here has the potential to be empowered to start and be the leader of a new group and spread God's kingdom.

C. Worship Time: Spend a few minutes singing a worship song. Here is one you may want to use No Longer Slaves  (or pick your own on YouTube make sure it has the lyrics on the screen)

F. Opening Question (a simple question to introduce the main theme - called an icebreaker): 

What would you do if you exercised Jesus' authority in your everyday life?

G. Read Background Information: 
 These verses were selected by Luke so that we would realize that as followers of Jesus we have His authority. Jesus did 3 basic things: 1. Healed the sick 2. Drove out demons 3. Called people to be His followers and taught them how to live as a follower of Jesus. Jesus gives us the authority to do these 3 things.

Verse Outline 

I.   The Playing Field of Authority - Verses 1-3

        Key Concept: A Follower of Jesus is on Duty 24/7

        Key Verse: Mark 16:15 - He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 

Community Group Application: A Community Group meets as a team once per week to prepare for Go into our community as Jesus’ hand, heart and voice

II.       The Source of Authority - Verse 4-5

   Key Concept: The Source of Real Authority is a Relationship with Jesus

   Key verse: Acts 19:15 One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?”

  Community Group Application: In a community group we learn about our authority through the mentoring training and we are on mission together in our community 

III. Authority Must be Exercised in the Real World of our day to Day - Verses 6-10

   Key Concept: The kingdom of God grows as we exercise the authority given to us

   Key Verse: Matthew 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

   Community Group Application: Community Groups that exercise the authority of Jesus grow those that do not die

H. Word: Read Acts 3:1-10 - break it down into smaller portions to read. Read it in portions aloud together several times. (Goal is that everyone understand the Bible story or verses by retelling them in their own words - keep at it until everyone knows the story or verses)
1. What key (important) words do you see in these verses?
2. Tell in your own words what happens in these verses.
3. What are the details?
4. What details can you add to what others in the group have said?

I. Discuss the following general questions together (Goal is to use these general questions to guide a discussion - the leader should not speak more than 30% of the time - let the group discover what God is saying to them).
1. What new thing did you discover in the story or verses that you did not know before?
2. What did you learn about God (Father, Jesus or Holy Spirit) from the story?
3. What do you learn about people from the story?

4. What important lessons for us do you see in this story?

 
J. Commitment - Obedience - Application  (This is the key - have everyone answer this question): 
1. What in specific will you commit to apply in your life from this study? 

K. Prayer Time:                
1. Pray for an empty chair representing new people who you want to join your group. Name names of people specifically.                
2. Pray for the needs of the members of the group. It is best to divide into 2 groups one of male and the other female.
L. For Next time:                
1. Ask each person the name of a person they will invite to the group                                         for next week.

Esta semana Lectura: Hechos 3:1-10 

Guía del Grupo Comunitario de Crossroads:

A. Bienvenido: Bienvenidos a todos, especialmente a las personas nuevas y lea en voz alta el propósito de su grupo

B. Propósito: Nuestro propósito es difundir el Reino de Dios. Hacemos esto multiplicando  grupos de personas que cuidan de cada uno como familia de Dios. Comenzamos invitando  i  a nuevas personas a nuestro grupo y  construyéndolas  para que sean seguidores de Jesús. Cada persona aquí tiene el potencial de ser  empoderada  para comenzar y ser el líder de un nuevo grupo y  difundir el reino de Dios

C. Tiempo de adoración: Pasa unos minutos cantando una canción de adoración. Elegir su propio cancion en YouTube (asegúrese de que tiene la letra en la pantalla)

D. Annucios: Los anuncios miran arriba

E. Revisar
1. ¿Cómo te fue con lo que querías aplicar a partir de la semana pasada? 
2. ¿A quién invitaste al grupo para esta semana?


F. Pregunta de apertura (una pregunta simple para introducir el tema principal - llamado rompehielos):

 ¿Qué harías si ejercieran la autoridad de Jesús en tu vida cotidiana?

G. Información de antecedentes: 

 Esos versículos fueron seleccionados por Lucas para que nos demos cuenta de que como seguidores de Jesús tenemos Su autoridad. Jesús hizo 3 cosas básicas: 1. Sanó a los enfermos 2. Expulsó a los demonios 3. Llamó a las personas a ser Sus seguidores y les enseñó a vivir como seguidores de Jesús. Jesús nos da la autoridad para hacer estas 3 cosas.

I. El campo de juego de la autoridad - Versículos 1-3

Concepto clave: Un seguidor de Jesús está en el deber 24/7

Versículo clave: Marcos 16:15 - Les dijo: "Ve a todo el mundo y predica el Evangelio a toda la creación.

Aplicación de grupo comunitario: Un grupo comunitario se reúne como equipo una vez por semana para prepararse para entrar en nuestra comunidad como la mano, el corazón y la voz de Jesús

 

Ⅱ. La Fuente de autoridad - Versículo 4-5

Concepto clave: La fuente de la autoridad real es una relación con Jesús

Versículo clave: Hechos 19:15 Un día el espíritu maligno les respondió: "Jesús lo conozco, y Pablo, yo sé, pero ¿quién eres tú?"

Aplicación de Grupo Comunitario: En un grupo comunitario aprendemos sobre nuestra autoridad a través de la capacitación de mentores y estamos en misión juntos en nuestra comunidad

III. La autoridad debe ser ejercida  en el mundo real de nuestro día a día - Versículos 6-10

Concepto clave: El reino de Dios crece a medida que ejercemos la autoridad que se nos da

Versículo clave: Mateo 16:19 Te daré las llaves del reino de los cielos; todo lo que atas en la tierra será atado en el cielo, y todo lo que pierdas en la tierra será soltado en el cielo."

Aplicación de Grupo Comunitario: Los Grupos Comunitarios que ejercen la autoridad de Jesús hacen crecer aquellos que no mueren

H. Palabra: Hechos 3:1-10 Léelo en porciones en voz alta varias veces. (La meta es que todos entiendan la historia o los versículos de la Biblia contándolos con sus propias palabras - manténganse en ella hasta que todos conozcan la historia o los versículos)

1. ¿Qué palabras clave (importantes) ves en esos versículos?
2. Diga con sus propias palabras lo que sucede en estos versículos.  
3. ¿Cuáles son los detalles?
4. ¿Qué detalles puede agregar a lo que otros en el grupo han dicho?

I. Discutir las siguientes preguntas generales juntos (El objetivo es utilizar estas preguntas generales para guiar un debate - el líder no debe hablar más del 30% de las veces - deje que el grupo descubra lo que Dios les está diciendo).
1. ¿Qué cosa nueva descubriste en la historia o los versículos que no conocías antes?
2. ¿Qué aprendiste acerca de Dios (Padre, Jesús o Espíritu Santo) de la historia? 
3. ¿Qué aprendes acerca de las personas de la historia?
4. ¿Qué lecciones importantes para nosotros ven en esta historia? 

J. Compromiso - Obediencia - Aplicación (Esta es la clave - que todos respondan a esta pregunta):
1. ¿Qué en concreto se comprometerán a aplicar en su vida de este estudio?

K. Tiempo de oración:
1. Ore por una silla vacía que represente a nuevas personas a las que desea unirse a su    Grupo. Nombres de personas específicamente.
2. Orar por las necesidades de los miembros del grupo. Lo mejor es dividir en 2    uno de los hombres y la otra hembra.

L. Para la próxima vez:
1. Pregunte a cada persona el nombre de una persona a la que invitarán a la grupo para la próxima semana.
