Getting to Know the Amazing Jesus Series
The Amazing Jesus: Our All in All
Study Guide
Message for Sunday July 14, 2019
This Week Reading: Hebrews 1:1-3 Additional Reading: John 1:1-14
Main Themes: Jesus' Attributes and Character; How God speaks to us; Who is Jesus; Divinity of Jesus
Background Information:
The subject of who Jesus is very important. Many people do not consider Jesus to be God but rather consider him to be a good example, which He was, or a good teacher, which He was.The Bible verses for this study make abundantly clear that Jesus is God. In addition to the verses above some more verses on this topic include the following: Colossians 1:16-17; John 14:9 and Philippians 2:6-11. The key point in these first 3 verses of Hebrews are that: 1. Jesus is the creator and the final judge. Jesus is the Alpha (beginning) and the omega (the end). 2. Jesus is the exact image of God. By looking at Jesus and His life we see what God is like. 3. Jesus is the sustainer of everything. Finally Jesus is the one who provides forgiveness for our sins. In short Jesus is our all in all.
