Section Two
Jesus came to destroy the works and power of Satan - 1 John 3:8. The first work of Satan that Jesus destroyed was death. The result of Adam and Eve's sin was that death entered the world. Before that man was not subject to death. One of the consequences of Adam and Eve's sin was that all man would now die. Read Genesis chapter 3 verse 19 and Romans chapter 5 verse 12. Hebrews chapter 2 verse 15 tells us that through Jesus death we are freed from the fear of death. This is so because now death is no longer the end but rather the beginning of our new life in eternity. Read 2 timothy chapter 1 verse 10. Read 1 Corinthians 15: 54-55. The point here is that because of Jesus death on the cross death has been defeated and is no longer the end for a follower of Jesus.
